How was your holi this year, I usually don’t celebrate holi, but I love all the madness and colours of this festival and gujiyas, who doesn’t love gujiyas ?. Since, its a review post, I wanted to tell you all that I will not sugar coat any products experience and will clearly mention my actual thoughts and experiences with it. With that being said, to know how Maybelline’s The Rock Nudes Pallete faired for me, please keep on reading.
This pallete comes in a compact packaging which is quite secured and handy when you are travelling. If you own any of the Maybelline’s nude palettes, then this is the exact same one. It is matte black packaging with rock nudes written in silver. The colours are visible through the glass opening in tge front. Comes with a small brush, which is quite handy. On the back, there is full description of the product, along with 4 different pictures of how it could be used to create different eye-looks by mix matching the shades.
Texture and Pigmentation
Frankly, I was quite disappointed with the texture and pigmentation of these eye-shadows. They are chalky and are uneven. Altough they blend easily, they are still not pigmented enough. I was nor satisfied with the colour pay-off.
Colour and blendability
The colour range is quite unique and it is a great palette if you use it along with your ride or die palettes. This is your palette if you love smokey eyes, golden and party kind-off looks. However, the blendability is okhay, the eye-shadows are not pigmented, hence you don’t need alot of hardwork to blend the colour. They blend easily, but you end up wasting quite a lot of product to make it stand out.
The range of colours, again, is very beautiful. You have silver with hint of pink which is excellent for inner corner highlight and brow-bone highlight. There are neutral browns and dark blacks to give you that smokey eyes in a jiffy. The main issues comes down to the pigmentation. But overall you can use it as an everyday pallete to create simple looks and maybe a quick smokey eye if you are not in a mood to go all out.
Overall experience with this one is not that great. Whenever I decide to use this one, somehow, I find myself grabbing my other eyeshadow palette’s to get desired look as the pigmentation of the lids is very bad. The swatches may seem quite pigmented but those are after two to three times swatched. They somehow come pigmented in swatches, but when applied on the lids.. Nahhhh!!!!! They don’t seem to do any magic. I would recommend you use a eye-shadow primer to get as much intensity as you can with this pallete. However, for the price for ₹.925 for this amount of product I was expecting it to be a gpod product.
Buy it here –
I would give it a 2.5/5 ratings.
