Motherhood is not an emotion but a journey in itself. You only realise the gravity of it when you become a mother. I remember my mom used to tell me how she never had any handbook to prepare her for motherhood. It was just her mother and mom-in-law to her rescue. I find myself lucky because we have a support system today in our mother, friends and communities that embrace motherhood and guide new mums. One such support system for young mums is Jyoti Kaur’s new ebook ‘ A-Z tips for effective parenting’.

Book Review
As I came across this ebook I was engulfed by a plethora of emotions. The birth of my girls came flashing by in front of my eyes and I remembered how I would worry about the parenting part. Though the anxiety was more with my firstborn because at that time I was vulnerable. A new mum starting out on a journey without any handbook or instruction manual. I could relate to every word by Jyoti in her ebook.
These lines in the introductory chapter stayed with me long after the book was completed.
“Only parents can understand what goes into parenting!”
Gosh!!! How true is this!
This ebook ‘ A-Z tips for effective parenting’. is a personal narrative of the author’s motherhood experiences and describes her tryst with being a mom.
I am totally impressed with the kind of research which has gone into creating this book. Very well thought of choosing the topics for the book. The breastfeeding, crawling phase, dangers of baby walkers and cognitive development of a child is crafted with much love and care. It was as if I was going through that phase and the author just spoke my mind. It is endearing how she chose to include the mental health of a child in the ebook. It is so important for new mums to get a grip of what issues might be affecting the child. Dealing with child tantrums is not easy but reading that chapter gives me an insight and a fresh perspective. I wish I had read this ebook earlier.
Few chapters like developing reading habits in children, developing social skills and information about good touch and bad touch are few topics still relevant for me and are
My favourite chapter of the whole ebook is learning to live with zero mom guilt. As a working mom, I have stressed myself over petty issues so often. But Jyoti imparts valuable lessons in her book.
The language used is lucid and simple to understand. It directly engages you and delves into parenting with a wholesome approach. I just loved the ebook and it sure have me some fresh perspective on effective parenting.
