Hello Everyone,

Lakme Fashion week 2017 has started from today. There will be new launches in the new season like the last year.

Before we move to the new launches, I wanted to share with you their Absolute Illuminating Shimmer brick and Highlighter. These two products have been my absolute favourites from the day I have received them.

So here I am to let you all know on my take for the Lakme Absolute Illuminating Shimmer brick and Lakme Absolute Highlighter.

Before I get into the products I have let me tell you some of the amazing things about this fabulous range.

1. These are limited edition products which were designed by fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

2. The products have shimmer added to it so it gives you a glow always J

3. They formula of these products is so silky that it blends effortlessly for that perfect finish.

So recently ,I had been to Kolkata recently and rediscovered my love for these products. I had taken these with me and used them to create this makeup look. Do comment below if you would want me to do a tutorial of this look.

Used the Coral Blush and the Moon-lit Highlighter

You can also see my Kolkata vlog here as well

Lakme Absolute Illuminating Shimmer brick

So at the last year Lakme fashion week, the shimmer bricks were created by Sabyasachi, taking inspiration from the trends. I got two shades :

1. Pink

2. Coral

Product Claims

A blush palette with a hint of shimmer, specially crafted by backstage experts at Lakme Fashion Week. Sweep through all four shades and blend into your cheeks for a soft, rosy glow.

Cost and Packaging:

Each of the shimmer bricks are priced at INR 725/- and you get 10 gms of the product.

It is packed in a glossy finish black round container with transparent lid so you can see through the colours from outside. You have “Lakme absolute” and “Shimmer brick” written.

There is no mirror on it which was a disadvantage for me as I rely on these in-packaging mirrors a lot for my makeup.

Texture and Formula:

The blush has a very smooth texture and glides very easily on your face. It is a powder formula blush.

Color Payoff:

The pigmentation of the product is average though its got for a beginner as you do not get too much of product.

Color : 01 Pink

Even if you take more product, it blends out very easily.

Color: 02 Coral

The blending is very smooth and gives you a nice flush of colour on your cheek.

Overall thoughts

I enjoyed using the blush. I had both the variants and I have used it extensively in the last year.

I would rate it a 3.5 / 5

Lakme Absolute Highlighter

Lakme was the only brand I knew when I got married and my entire makeup bag was filled with Lakme bridal collection back in 2010.Now when Lakme came out with this pretty bronzer and highlighter, I had no reason why I shouldn’t give it a try. So along with the Illuminating range blush I got their Moon-lit highlighter as well.

Cost and Packaging:

The highlighter is also priced for INR 725/- and you get 9 gms of the product

You can buy it here

The packaging is similar to the blush. Again no mirror so I had to struggle.

The highlighter is divided into 2 halves.

One is the highlight section which you can use on the high of the cheeks, and the bridge of the nose, under the brow bone.

The other section is a deep colour bronzer for the perfect face comes well contoured and sculpted

Texture and Formula:

The texture of the highlighter and the bronzer is very powdery. In fact, the highlighter left me with a granular finish. The bronzer however gave me a smooth finish.

The highlighter gives you a very bright silver kinda finish very similar to the moon and hence, I think, they named it Moon-lit highlighter.

Bronzer is a nice light brown shade with orange undertone.

Color Payoff:

Coming to the pigmentation, I would say the highlighter is average on pigment. However, the bronzer was really pigmented. I needed very less product to get that sun kissed look.

Overall thoughts

I liked the product overall. I think it’s a good buy for a combo of highlighter and bronzer in 1 product.

I would rate it 3.5/5

Hope you like these products as much as I do.

Do let me know your favorite Lakme product and if you would like us to review any specific product?

Love you!!

Kapila
