Vacation – Important to take break from hectic Work Schedule

With hectic schedules and current Lockdown situations, we are tired and stressed to a level probably we would have never experience. All we want is a vacation. Vacations or even small breaks from the hectic schedules give us our much needed “space” and help us relax our mind and body.  Vacations help us get that break from the cycle of stress and hence help us repair and restore our health physically as well as mentally.

Vacation – Important to take a break from Work Schedule

How do you know that you need a Break

Though, lockdown may look like a break to many people but most of us now want a break from this schedule as well. What are the signs you need to look for which scream at you that you need a break

  • Low or No energy
  • Low Motivation
  • Irritability
  • Feeling confused/overwhelmed.
  • Some illness
  • Lack of sleep

If you see yourself falling into these categories, listen to your body and mind that I needs a break. A break from the monotony of the Hectic Work Schedule, a vacation to relax and rejuvenate.

Plan an itenary almost 2-3 months in advance.

Though travel right now is on a halt, you can still plan your vacation once things are better. Usually, I am a person who likes to travel every 3-4 months. Usually we plan our travel around the time of kids holidays. We do extensive research on where to go, how to go, how to manage the travel.

With prior planning, I know tentative dates and information about my travel and hence I can keep team informed about my travel in advance. I can plan my work and schedules in advance so that the work does not get affected in my absence.

Also, since the dates of my leave are already known in advance, no one anticipates work from my end during that time.

How to take a break

There are many options available if you want to take a break from your Hectic Work Schedule. You can take a long vacation and visit new places or you can opt for a smaller vacation or break and travel to your hometown. If that is not possible just take a break of a day or two to relax and get yourself back together.

Make Travel a Priority

The first and foremost thing you can do to take a vacation is to make traveling a priority. How much ever busy your Work Schedule looks like, incorporating travel in your busy life is required for your own health and even affects your productivity at work.

If you have travel on your mind, you would lookout for opportunities and gaps in your workdays to make plans for your Vacation.

 Staycation

Staycations are a rage and becoming more popular with young families today. Staycation is all about relaxing and taking a break from your routine mundane life and spend some time with yourself and your loved ones. Staycation need not have to be at a luxurious resort. You can just relax and switch off your work for a day or two in your own home and enjoy it.

Once you are away from the regular work schedule you give yourself time to unwind and restore what you have been losing out on.  Keep it simple and slow and enjoy every moment.
