Meditation has tons of benefits, and one of them is the ability to relieve stress, helping in maintaining a healthier lifestyle. With regular practice of meditation, you will eventually develop resilience to stress. There are various ways to start your meditation journey, and here we are showing you the basic approach to achieve mindfulness.

How to Achieve Clearer Thoughts and Stress Less with Mindfulness & Meditation

  •  Start By Sitting In A Comfortable Position

While some people sit cross-legged on the ground, others choose to sit comfortably on the chair. You can choose the position where you are relaxed while being completely awake. Irrespective of where you are sitting, make sure your back is straight. Eventually, you will get in the habit of starting your meditation in the right position. If you feel that shoulder slumping while meditating, straighten back up. This will prevent soreness while meditating.

  • Gently Close Your Eyes

Once you have seated in a comfortable position, softly gaze into the distance, then slowly lower your eyelids. Ensure to keep the jack slacked and slightly open to relax your facial muscles. When achieving mindfulness, it is essential to relax your face, so do not make the mistake of squeezing your eyes shut. If you feel your face tightening, open your eyes slowly, adjust the gaze again, and close your eyes. The main aim should be to relax every part of the body by breathing deeply yet slowly.

  • Put Your Thoughts Aside

When achieving mindfulness, the most important thing is to have control over your thoughts. If you cannot control them, they will have more power over you. However, it does not imply that you have to suppress or ignore them; instead, notice them and try to remain calm, using breathing to achieve a calm moment. Learning to do this while meditating can help in letting things go. In case you get carried away by your thoughts, do not worry. Just take a moment to observe where your thoughts are taking you and then come back to breathing.

  • Stay Patient

When achieving mindfulness through meditation, you have to be patient. Slowly you will see a gap between thoughts that will become more distant. If you are expecting to do things correctly, it will make things more challenging for you. There is no perfect way to start your meditation session; you learn by making mistakes and correcting them.

  • Set Goals and Track Your Time

When meditating, the two minutes can seem like a lifetime when you are just starting. This may make you agitate whether or not your time is up. These thoughts can hinder the overall goal of achieving mindfulness. To steer clear from this, you should set a timer. You can use your mobile phone and set it for a specific time you meditate.

Final Thoughts

Meditation is one of the best ways to relieve stress and achieve peace. Make sure that you are patient while starting your meditation journey to achieve the desired results.
