DIY Face pack for Dry Skin. I have very dry skin, to the extent that even after applying moisturizer 2 times a day I get dry patches and flakiness during winters. Deep moisturization, exfoliation, and toning are crucial to improving the skin texture when it comes to dry skin.

Presenting to you a few face packs for dry skin. These packs will improve the dryness condition by locking moisture in your skin.

Why you should try these because homemade facemasks offer the benefits of being natural causing no harm to the skin. The ingredients can be found in your kitchen cabinets and refrigerator. Religiously add these homemade packs to your daily life to achieve soft, supple, and glowing skin.

DIY FACE PACK FOR DRY SKIN

Avocado Face Mask

Avocado : Avocado pulp is a treasure chest of antioxidants that helps moisturize your skin from within. The vitamin E present in avocado could help remedy chapped lips too.

Yogurt : Yogurt has a moisturizing effect on your skin and heals your dry skin.

Honey : Honey opens up your skin pores to cleanse them and get rid of black heads. It has antioxidants with antiseptic, and antibacterial properties.

Olive oil: acts as an antioxidant.  When applied to the skin, antioxidants may prevent premature aging. Also, some research suggests that putting olive oil on the skin after sun exposure may fight off cancer causing cells.

How to make the pack

Add 1 avocado (best to use a ripe, fresh, organic avocado and to make sure to mash it up into a creamy pulp) to 2 tablespoons plain yogurt,1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon honey.

When combined with honey, olive oil, egg, or yogurt, avocado leaves your skin fresh and perfectly moisturized. This face pack should be applied once a week.

Brown Sugar Scrub

Brown Sugar : Brown sugar’s granulated particles exfoliate your skin, clearing away dry and dead skin cells. Brown sugar also has anti bacterial properties and glycolic acid that keeps your skin radiant and healthy. It also moisturizes your skin and conditions it and protects your skin from harmful toxins.

How to make the pack

  1. Take 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of raw honey
  3. Mix together well. You can store this in a jar with an air tight lid. Keep at room temperature.
  4. Wash face well and apply a small amount of scrub(about ½ t.) to wet skin and massage gently in a circular motion. Avoid eye area
  5. Rinse face well and pat dry.

Cane brown sugar is rich in Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA). This compound can penetrate your skin and can break down the compound that binds the skin cells. This promotes cell regeneration and rejuvenation.

Rose Petals Face Pack

Rose Petals: Rose petals work as a skin tonic and have an astringent like effect on the capillaries just below the skin surface . This enhances the delivery of nutrients to the skin’s surface and can help to get rid of the dryness.

Oats : Oats are moisturizing for the skin

How to Make the pack

  1. Soak rose petals in water for 30 minutes
  2. Crush the petals
  3. Mix them with ground oats.
  4. Gently scrub this mixture onto your face and neck using circular motions. For extra exfoliation, you can wash off the scrub with a mixture of water and milk.
  5. Do this once a week.

Banana Face Pack

Banana : Banana has moisturizing, anti wrinkle and anti aging properties.

Along with the honey and olive oil, which are emollients themselves, this banana pack deeply moisturizes and conditions your skin . The natural sebum production by the skin can be easily regulated with this face pack.

How to make the pack

  1. Mashed ripe banana
  2. Mix with honey or olive oil.

Banana and honey mixed together will restore the moisture in your skin and hydrate the skin cells from deep within. You can use this as a moisturizing mask and rinse off with lukewarm water after 15 minutes. Repeat the application of this pack once every week.

Cucumber Face Pack

Cucumber : Cucumber gives skin a cooling and hydrating effect making it soft and supple.

How to make the pack

  1. Peel half cucumber
  2. Mash it well.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon sugar and refrigerate.
  4. Apply on face and leave for 10 mins.
  5. Rinse it off with cold water.

Apply this face pack twice a week. It is also very soothing for the itching sensation which is often seen with dry skin .

Egg Yolk Face Pack

Egg Yolk :  Egg yolk is full of moisturizing fats that hydrate and nourish the dry skin.  Egg yolk is rich in vitamin A and proteins which nourish the skin.

How to make the pack

  1. Combine one egg yolk, one tablespoon of honey, and two drops of almond oil.
  2. Apply to the face
  3. Rinse off with warm water after 20 minutes.

Use this face pack once or twice a week.

Almond oil is packed with vitamin E, which may help protect the skin from sun damage and premature aging.

So many different ingredients and so many combinations that can be prepared with them to soothe your skin and get rid of dryness.

Please note that I am not an expert and am simply sharing my opinions and personal experience. Different things will work for different people and this is simply something that has worked for me! If you have not used any of these ingredients before, it is best to conduct a small patch test before applying that ingredient on your face. As they say, better be safe than sorry.
