The Itsy Bitsy Spyder -Ebook Review

About Author: Apeksha Rao

Apeksha Rao is a multi genre author from Bangalore. Apeksha’s first book was Along Came A Spyder, which has not been printed yet due to Covid-19. She has written many short stories on same series The Spyders. Now she has published her E-book The Itsy Bitsy Spyder on Amazon. This is a prequel of her 1 book Along Came A Spyder.

What do you do when your mother feels that you don’t trust her? If you are Samira Joshi and your mother is an elite spy who works for RAW, the first thing you do is … hide the knives. After that, you go straight to the therapist that she has chosen. For, when your mother knows seventeen different ways to kill a man, you don’t argue with her. Much!! Unless she’s trying to destroy your dreams. Then, you fight dirty. Like a spy.

Samira is sweet, sassy, and almost seventeen, She dreams of becoming a badass spy like her parents,

And, why not? That’s exactly what her parents have trained her to be.

So, why is her mother suddenly acting like a typical Indian mom and pushing her to be a doctor?

Samira can swear on her stack of covert operative manuals that it has something to do with her mother’s last mission. Her therapist disagrees. She feels the key to the mystery lies in Samira’s childhood.

Between her mother’s drama, a troublemaking grandmother, and a confused therapist, Samira’s life is spinning out of control.

What’s a good spy to do when her dreams are in danger?

Book Review

‘The Itsy Bitsy Spyder’ is a fun and Mysteries novel to read from the YA Spy thriller genre. It is a story about the girl Samira or Sam and her dreams to become a spy just like her parents. I loved how sassy, funny seventeen year old Sam is shown to have spy genes running in her family.  Starting from her grandmother who was the famous person in her town Ratnagiri with all the gossips of the town with her always.

Author has beautifully narrated the story of Sam’s life. I loved how Apeksha has included many interesting episodes of Sam’s life in the story. The narration is crisp and interesting and keeps you glued to it. The attitude Sam displays throughout the novel is any other typical teenager which has been beautifully portrayed in the book. The book has lot of funny and catchy examples which keep you intrigued and interested in the suspense of the story. Apeksha’s writing is fast and effortless and the story flows smoothly. The suspense at the end of the book has made me really impatient for the sequel and I am so looking forward to reading it. ‘The Itsy Bitsy Spyder’ is a fabulous prequel that makes you curious to read the book in one go.
